North Africa and the Middle East Landscapes

Please join us for a new course, GEOS 4043 Geography of the Middle East & North Africa, offered this upcoming fall semester. Addressing the five often misunderstood regions from Morocco to the Gulf and across Turkey, the course requires no prerequisites and will examine landscapes, culture, food and music, climate, rituals, history, culture, resources, art and architecture, interspersed with in-class student-led banquets offering some foods of the regional cuisines.

Professor Tom Paradise has lived and worked over the years in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan since 1990, and will use multi-media to examine these crucial, stunning and interesting 'corners of the Earth' on Wednesday evenings from 5-8 p.m. in Gearhart Hall at the U of A.
