As an anticipated record number of students are preparing to enter the university's classrooms this fall, the Student Success Center will continue to offer a high-impact network of resources and programming to ensure all students have access to the opportunities they may need to thrive on campus.

The center's team — based at the CORD, short for the new Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence just north of Old Main — spent the summer scaling up staffing and programming to meet the needs of another banner enrollment year. Services offered through the center are designed for students at all academic levels and in any program of study. The center's programming aims to help students maximize their academic success, enhance their feeling of belonging and improve their overall well-being.

Center staff also collaborates with faculty and staff across campus to help coordinate a variety of workshops to support students enrolled in their classes and programs.

Several offerings will also include remote scheduling opportunities to provide flexibility for students who may need or want this option.

Featured services this fall include:

  • Enrollment Guides

    • Enrollment Guide student workers assist current students with UAConnect processes such as enrolling, dropping and swapping classes; using the schedule planner; accessing waitlists; and answering general questions about campus resources. Enrollment Guides will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day Aug. 22-26 at the welcome desk in the CORD.

  • MyMajors

  • Success Tips

  • In-Person and Online Tutoring

  • Peer Academic Coaching

  • Writing Studio

    • Undergraduate and graduate students can schedule appointments for in-person or online consultations. By-request writing workshops and online resources for students and faculty are available on the Writing Studio webpage.

"The team at the Student Success Center partners with students to empower them to make the most of every opportunity available to them on campus and beyond," said Trevor Francis, associate vice provost and director of student success. "Our services are designed to help students reach their academic goals through creative and effective programming that supports learning engagement. We're especially proud of our 'Students Helping Students' approach to success, which helps put students at ease by connecting them with a peer while maximizing the leadership potential of our student workers through training, support and resources."
