Associated Student Government Applications Now Available for Vacancies, Openings

Applications for Associated Student Government Senate vacancies and Freshman Leadership Forum are now available. Opportunities can be viewed and applications submitted via the Office of Student Activities HogSync page. Students should log in with a valid uark.edu email address. There is a separate application for each opportunity.

Available applications with associated deadlines are as follows:

Senate Vacancy Applications: Deadline at noon on Aug. 30

The vacant seats in the ASG Senate are filled with a fall at-large election. Students do not run by college of enrollment; instead, all students vote for all candidates that appear on one ballot. Applications are open to U of A undergraduate students who meet co-curricular requirements. Senate vacancy applications are due by noon on Tuesday, Aug. 30, on HogSync. In addition, students interested must complete and pass a candidate orientation quiz by noon on Thursday, Sept. 1, or attend an online orientation Aug. 25.

Freshman Leadership Forum Applications: Due at noon on Sept. 1

The Freshman Leadership Forum program is a comprehensive leadership and personal development program designed to integrate and introduce freshmen to Associated Student Government and the shared governance process at the U of A. Freshman Leadership Forum members commit to serve September - April, thus allowing them to run or seek an appointment in ASG for the upcoming year. Freshman Leadership Forum members participate in senate and judicial simulations, serve office hours, attend bi-weekly meetings, learn about leadership and service, and gain the tools and skills necessary to be future ASG and campus leaders.

The Freshman Leadership Forum is open to any first-year students entering in summer or fall 2022 who meet co-curricular requirements. Students can apply via HogSync by Thursday, Sept. 1.

Interviews for the Freshman Leadership Forum program will be conducted in September. Any questions should be referred to Christian Greer, Freshman Leadership Forum coordinator, at asgflf@uark.edu.

Program Allocations Board Applications: Due at noon on Sept. 6

The Program Allocations Board oversees the allocation of the student activity fee. The position is open to all students who meet co-curricular eligibility requirements. Deadline to apply is at noon Sept. 6, and students can apply on HogSync. The Student-At-Large may not hold executive membership in a program that already has permanent membership on the board. The Student-At-Large may not submit a budget or present authorship on a budget to be considered by the board. They represent the entire student interest. Razorback Action Group Applications: Due at noon on Sept. 7

Razorback Action Group is a non-partisan lobbying organization within the Associated Student Government that advocates for student interests through legislation. Before applying, please note that RAG meets bi-weekly from 5:15-6:15 p.m. Wednesdays, as well as a few additional events and/or meetings. The Razorback Action Group is open to any undergraduate student who meets co-curricular requirements. Students can apply via HogSync by noon, Wednesday, Sept. 7.
