Office of Sponsored Students and Special Programs Moved to Futrall Hall

The Office of Sponsored Students and Special Programs in the Graduate School and International Education has moved from its previous location in Gearhart Hall to room 158 in Futrall Hall. The office space is accessible through the south side entrance of the building, next to the parking lot shared by Futrall, Davis Hall and Unity House.
The Sponsored Students and Special Programs office facilitates the admission, support and repatriation of sponsored students at the U of A. Currently, more than 200 sponsored students are enrolled as part of the nearly 1,200 international students attending the U of A.
SSSP also oversees and facilitates special programs including Pre-Academic Program for SENACYT Scholars (PAPPS) and non-degree seeking international programs, such as visiting and exchange programs and custom short-term programs. It is home for international visiting scholars who come on sponsored programs as well.
"We are excited to be in this new space in Futrall Hall," said Nami Bagirimvano, director of Sponsored Students and Special Programs. "One of the perks is that we are close to the International Students and Scholars Programs in Holcombe Hall, where many of our students live and many international-themed programming happens throughout the year.
"We look forward to welcoming SSSP students, scholars and guests to our comfortable office space starting this semester. We will continue to work closely with team members who are housed in Gearhart Hall and different locations on campus."
