Register for Business Integrity Program Focused on Speaking Up

For the fall semester, the Business Integrity Leadership Initiative at the Sam M. Walton College of Business is hosting its Let's Talk program, which will focus on speaking up when something seems wrong. Students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to participate.

Led by Cindy Moehring, founder and executive director of the Business Integrity Leadership Initiative, the fall Let's Talk about Speaking Up program will explore how to voice your values when something seems wrong and how to create a culture that supports it. Guest speakers will provide real-life examples and lessons learned from their experiences when faced with ethical dilemmas.

The program consists of three guest speakers and a book. The book of the semester is "Giving Voice to Values: How to Speak Your Mind When You Know What's Right" by Mary Gentile, Ph.D., a leading values-driven leadership expert. Guest speakers include Gentile and whistleblowers Sherron Watkins (Enron) and Erika Cheung (Theranos).

Gentile, a celebrated author and creator of the Giving Voice to Values curriculum, will present live via Zoom from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14. The second speaker is Watkins, a leadership and ethics advocate widely known for being the whistleblower on Enron Corporation's accounting irregularities. She will present in person and live via Zoom from 6-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 10. The third speaker, Cheung, is a key whistleblower to the Theranos' false medical tests scandal. Cheung, co-founder and executive director of an ethics in entrepreneurship non-profit, will present in person and live via Zoom from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9.
