Annual Alcohol and Other Drug Policy Notification for Students, Faculty and Staff

In keeping with the Federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989, the U of A sends out its annual Alcohol and Other Drug Policy notification. All members of the university are encouraged to read the notice and familiarize themselves with the policies and resources provided here on campus. 

This annual notification is required by the U.S. Department of Higher Education and provides the campus community information related to: 

  • Drug and alcohol programs available to students and/or employees 
  • Health risks associated with alcohol abuse and illicit drug use 
  • Standards of conduct and disciplinary sanctions for students regarding alcohol and drug use 
  • Standards of conduct and disciplinary sanctions for employees regarding alcohol and drug use 
  • Federal and state legal sanctions
