The American Accounting Association presented the 2022 Innovation in Accounting Education Award to Vernon J. Richardson, Ryan Teeter and Katie L. Terrell for their innovative textbooks Data Analytics for Accounting and Introduction to Data Analytics for Accounting at the association's annual meeting in San Diego, California, on Aug. 2. 

Richardson, Distinguished Professor of accounting and holder of the W. Glezen Chair at the Sam M. Walton College of Business; Terrell, accounting instructor at Walton College; and Teeter, clinical associate professor at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, co-authored the textbooks, which are published by McGraw-Hill. 

According to the association, the "annual Innovation in Accounting Education Award is intended to encourage innovation and improvement in accounting education. It recognizes significant programmatic changes or a significant activity, concept or set of educational materials. Submissions are judged by their innovation, demonstrated educational benefits and adaptability by other academic institutions or to other situations."
