Flu & COVID-19 Booster Vaccine Challenge Student Survey

Flu & COVID-19 Booster Vaccine Challenge Student Survey
University of Arkansas' Pat Walker Health Center

The U of A is participating in a challenge with other colleges and universities across the state of Arkansas to see which institution will get the most undergraduate students who self-report as receiving their flu vaccine and their COVID-19 bivalent booster in a Arkansas Immunization Action Coalition (ImmunizeAR) survey.

The overall challenge is open to undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, staff and alumni. However, the institutions enrolled in the challenge will be judged on the percentage of their undergraduate student population vaccinated through mid-December (Dec. 16). The university with the highest percentage of undergraduates vaccinated with the flu vaccine (according to those that complete the survey) will be announced as the winner in February 2023 and will receive a trophy from ImmunizeAR. There will also be a winner selected for the institution with the most COVID-19 boosters reported in the survey

If you have received your flu vaccine, then complete the survey to help the U of A win. You do not have to have received the flu vaccine or the COVID-19 bivalent vaccine from the Pat Walker Health Center to complete the survey, and no identifiable information is collected within the survey. You can also have received only the flu vaccine and not the COVID-19 bivalent vaccine to complete the survey. Participants will be asked to report school name, month of vaccination, place where flu vaccine was received, age and affiliation with their school. Then there are two questions about receiving the COVID-19 bivalent booster, (if you got it and which vaccine you received).

To encourage our community to receive their flu vaccine, the COVID-19 bivalent booster and complete the survey, Pat Walker Health Center is doing social media giveaways of three $50 Amazon gift cards in the months of October through December (one gift card/winner a month). The specific rules for entering in the giveaway can be found on Pat Walker Health Center's Instagram or TikTok (@uofahealth). We encourage our university community to receive their flu vaccine and COVID-19 bivalent booster, regardless of if you choose to participate in the survey.
