UARK Gaming and UARK Esports encourage students to get involved in Fayetteville’s first ReWired Fest to be held Oct. 21-22 on the University of Arkansas campus. The esports-related event is free for everyone.

ReWired Fest is an immersive esports and digital experience combining esports tournaments, groundbreaking tech, gaming lounges, a food expo, vintage gaming, STEAM education, celebrity panels and more. The event will kick off with multiple esports tournaments worth a total of $60,000 in prizes.

"Rewired Fest is a great opportunity for students to hear from influential members of the esports community while also having lots of fun with various events," said Paige McGaughy, former president of UARK Gaming and UARK Esports. "I am very excited to be co-hosting a celebrity panel with the CIO and Co-Founder of the*gameHERs."

The event is designed to foster an equitable future in esports and tech by encouraging Black, Indigenous and people of color communities, as well as women and people of all abilities, to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, arts and math, the STEAM fields.

The festival will begin at noon Friday, Oct. 21, at Bud Walton Arena and is free to all patrons. The festival will come to an end at 8 p.m. on Saturday. A portion of the event will also be taking place at Lot 60 (adjacent to Bud Walton's West entrance).
