Two Events Still Offered for Graduate Students in November

As the end of the semester nears, November brings many educational opportunities for graduate students and the broader campus community. Three events throughout this month offer attendees the opportunity to learn valuable techniques to improve their academic and professional skills in and out of the classroom.

Canceled Due to Low Registration: Data Organization Workshop

An effective management system not only saves time and resources but also contributes to the prevention of errors and the improvement of the quality of analyses. Canceled: "Graduate Student Research Workshops: Data Organization" will be held via Zoom at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8. In this session, graduate students will learn how to categorize and classify data from librarian Lora Lennertz. Writing and Research Tools Workshop

"Graduate Student Research Workshops: Writing & Research Tools Overview Session" will be held via Zoom at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. This seminar will give an overview of the writing resources available to all graduate students at the U of A, including the Writing Studio, Library Resources, Cultivate the Writer, and more. Those interested in attending should register on Eventbrite and use the code 'UARKGRAD2020' when prompted.

For both virtual events, registrants will receive an email shortly before each event with the instructions for how to join online.

Profiles in Success: How to Build a Strong Academic Reputation

A thriving professional reputation can reap many benefits, including better relationships, greater revenue, and more career opportunities. "Profiles in Success: How to Build a Strong Academic Reputation" will be held from 2-3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in Gearhart Hall 206. Peter S. Ungar, director of the environmental dynamics Ph.D. program, will give a presentation on how to be a successful scholar and his journey of becoming a professor and researcher.
