All Faculty Reading Day Luncheon: The Semester Is (Almost) Over, Now What?

The All Faculty Reading Day Luncheon is being held from noon to 1:15 p.m. on Reading Day, Friday, Dec. 9. Location TBA.

The end is near! Well, the end of the semester is near, and the end of the semester presents faculty with a variety of challenges and opportunities. How do you respond to the email pleading for more time? What grade do you assign to the student with a final grade of 79.4? How do you process contradictory teaching evaluation comments? How do you set the stage for a better course offering next time?

Faculty can join the Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center for a free lunch and an opportunity to share best practices for end-of-semester success and peace of mind. TFSC co-directors Lynn Meade, Carole Shook and Richard Cassady will share their own thoughts and lead group activities.

The end of the semester may be your best chance for reflection and improvement. We will be having the Taste of the South Buffet. This buffet includes pulled pork, chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, BBQ baked beans, cole slaw, cornbread and strawberry shortcake. RSVP to attend in person or remotely. Please RSVP no later than Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center provides a variety of programs throughout the year for all faculty (tenure track and non-tenure track) who have teaching responsibilities. For more information on teaching tips and programs, check out the website: teaching.uark.edu.
