Biomedical Engineering Society Inducts Raj Rao as 2022 Fellow

Biomedical engineering professor Raj Rao has been elected to the 2022 Class of Biomedical Engineering Society Fellows. The society awards fellow status to individuals who demonstrate exceptional achievements and significant contributions and service to the society and the field of biomedical engineering.
The society announced its 2022 Class of Fellows at its annual meeting in San Antonio in October. Rao is one of just 22 inductees in the 2022 fellows class.
"It is truly an honor to be recognized by BMES," Rao said. "Its mission is one of innovation, diversity and inclusion, and I embrace it wholeheartedly."
Rao was recognized for his scholarly contributions in stem cell engineering and for his inspirational leadership and service to the society and the field.
The Biomedical Engineering Society, established in 1968, is the preeminent professional society for students, faculty, researchers and industry professionals. According to its mission statement, the society aims to "promote a collaborative and inclusive community to advance human health through education, discovery and translation."
