Mark Zweig's Confessions of an Entrepreneur: Simple Wisdom for Starting, Building, and Running a Business was recently named the 2022 Entrepreneur-General book award winner and a finalist in the Start Up category from Goody Business Book Awards. The Goody Business Book Awards, sponsored by Goody PR, focuses on books that have a positive social impact and help others.

Zweig serves as the entrepreneur-in-residence at the Sam M. Walton College of Business and has taught entrepreneurship at the University of Arkansas for over 15 years. Zweig currently serves as the chairman of Vistage Northwest Arkansas and is the founder of two Inc. 500/5000 companies, the Zweig Group and Mark Zweig Inc.

"I wrote this book for anyone who either owns their own business or is thinking about starting or buying one. It is not filled with cliches, buzzwords and jargon like most other business books, and is written from the perspective of someone who has started, bought, sold multiple businesses, including two Inc 500/5000 companies — as well as worked with thousands of entrepreneurs and business owners over his lengthy career."

Zweig provides readers with lessons learned from 50 years of professional experience and draws upon a wealth of experience to offer practical, easy-to-understand guidance for budding and current entrepreneurs. The strength of the book resides in the candid stories Zweig tells, providing insight into what owning and running a business looks and feels like.

As Michael J. Gelb, author of How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci and Innovate Like Edison, said, "This book is Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance for entrepreneurs. It is filled with engaging, instructive and inspiring stories from Zweig's amazing career, shared with humility, grace and humor. This 'simple wisdom' is profound, practical and essential for all aspiring entrepreneurs."

Bob Lutz, former vice chairman at General Motors, also states that "[this book] will help the passionate entrepreneur seize the right opportunities and avoid fatal mistakes."

The book has already received attention in the press, including coverage from the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal and its podcast.
