Interested in Improving Physical Function? Aging and Physical Function Research Study

Research suggests that age-related declines in physical function can be slowed considerably by improving muscular power, or the ability to generate force quickly. The purpose of this study is to better our understanding of the relationship between physical function and muscular power, as well as identify the best way to measure each in research and clinical settings.

Do I qualify?

  • You must be between 50-70 years of age
  • Must be willing to communicate via email
  • Must be able to understand written and verbal English
  • Must be able to participate in vigorous physical activity such as jumping, climbing stairs quickly and pedaling a stationary bike as hard as you can, without physician approval

Expectations

Visit us one time for 135 minutes or less to complete a variety of physical tests related to muscular power and physical function.

Benefits of participation

You will receive body composition and bone density results following the testing visit. At the completion of the study, you will receive a report with results from the physical function tests with average values for your sex/age when available.
