Writing consultant meeting with student as part of the accountability program in the Writing Studio.

As graduate writers, we often get mired in thinking and habits that lead to self-sabotaging behavior. We can procrastinate and do everything else, for everyone else, which means we're not getting our own writing done. Sound familiar? Us too!

Join us for the "Beat the Block: Get Out of Your Head and Into Writing" workshop, where we will discuss how to set up a system for writing that will help you break bad habits, build new habits and sustain your writing for the long run. The workshop will be held in the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence (CORD) on:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 31, from noon to 1 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 4-5 p.m.

After the workshop, we will have a brief informational session outlining the Spring 2023 Accountability Writing Program, which offers graduate students different support options they can mix and match to their unique needs (it's a bit like building your own adventure):

  • Weekly accountability partner sessions

  • Writing coaching groups

  • Weekly write-ins

Students who are interested in support options available through the Accountability Writing Program need to attend the "Beat the Block: Get Out of Your Head and Into Writing" workshop. If you cannot attend, but are interested in the program, please contact the Writing Studio directly for assistance. Space in the program is limited, so register soon!

To register for the workshop or to sign up for further information about the Accountability Writing program, please fill out this form.
