The office of New Student & Family Programs is hiring students for paid leadership positions for the 2023-24 academic year. The program has a variety of positions available that will provide you with a range of experiences. Whether you're interested in event planning, marketing, outdoor adventures, or mentorship, we've got something for you! Parent & Family Ambassadors
Parent & Family Ambassadors serve as student members of the New Student & Family Programs staff and work collaboratively to assist parents and family members in their student's successful transition to the University of Arkansas. Parent & Family Ambassadors assist in the planning and implementation of Parent & Family Programs events, such as Family Weekend and New Student Orientation, and supervise staffing needs outlined by New Student & Family Programs. Applications close Feb. 17.

UARK Cardinal Nights Student Coordinator
UARK Cardinal Nights Student Coordinators serve as a programming board for UARK Cardinal Nights, a late-night series funded by students' fees. Cardinal Nights coordinators are responsible for the development, and implementation of all UARK Cardinal Nights events including the annual Back to School Bash, Casino Night and more! This team hosts 4-5 events per semester that are open to the entire student body. The available positions include two event coordinators, one volunteer and marketing coordinator, and one executive director. Applications close Feb. 28.

NSFP Lead Team
NSFP Lead Team Members are a group of exceptional student leaders who are passionate about assisting first-year students and planning events including A-Week, R.O.C.K. Camp and other events for new students throughout the academic year. The available positions under NSFP Lead Team include a Lead Team Exec member, an A-Week Leader or an A-Week Exec member, a R.O.C.K. Camp Mentor, or a R.O.C.K. Camp Exec member. If interested, you can hold one or more of these positions concurrently. All Lead Team applications close Feb. 28.

  • Lead Team Exec: If you're a returning Lead Team Member, Lead Team Exec is for you! Lead Team Exec will have additional responsibilities of planning events throughout the semester and assisting in creating professional development opportunities for Lead Team. This position will be required to hold office hours in the fall semester.
  • A-Week Leader: A-Week leaders facilitate the objectives and small-group activities as it relates to the A-Week fall transition initiative. A-Week Leaders are required to attend the daily topic-specific programs and small group discussions each morning and at least two all-campus social events in the evenings of A-Week (August 14-19,2023). Additionally, A-Week Leaders will be required to volunteer at several daytime events throughout A-Week to support the academic colleges and university colleges contributing to the program.
  • A-Week Exec: If you're a returning A-Week Leader, A-Week Exec is for you! As an Exec member you will have additional responsibilities of helping prep for A-Week and being the Exec mentor during A-Week. You must be available during the summer to hold office hours.
  • R.O.C.K. Camp Mentor: R.O.C.K. (Razorback Outreach for Community and Knowledge) Camp is designed to aid incoming students in their transition from high school to college by developing a diverse social network of classmates, upperclassmen, and faculty & staff members, while strengthening their bond to the University of Arkansas through the introduction of campus culture and traditions. As a R.O.C.K. Camp Mentor you will facilitate a small group of 10-15 first-year students through multiple activities and discussions. You will also be relied on to answer questions about the University of Arkansas and the Fayetteville community. All mentors will attend an in-depth training prior to the start of R.O.C.K. Camp to review information and logistics pertaining to Camp. 
  • R.O.C.K. Camp Exec: If you're a returning R.O.C.K. Camp Mentor, R.O.C.K. Camp Exec is for you! As an Exec member you will have additional responsibilities of helping prepare for R.O.C.K. Camp and being the Exec mentor during camp. You must be available during the summer to hold office hours.
