The Vietnamese Student Association invites the U of A community to attend our third annual Lunar New Year Showcase in celebration of Tết Nguyên Đán on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Faulkner Performing Arts Center. Tết Nguyên Đán marks the beginning of a new year on the lunar calendar, which is typically mid-February.

Because the lunar calendar is based on the cycles of the moon's phases, the date of Tết Nguyên Đán on the Gregorian calendar changes slightly every year. Tết Nguyên Đán only lasts for three days, but people often spend a month to celebrate this special event. Tết Nguyên Đán carries love and hope, signifies family and friend kinship, and promises a better year ahead.

University students can reserve their tickets through the UofA/Community LNYS RSVP form found on the Vietnamese Student Association Instagram's Linktree (@arkansasvsa). Seating is limited, so be sure to secure a ticket as soon as possible!

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled U of A students who pay the student activities fee. For questions about the event or for accommodations due to disability, please contact Hien Mai at hienmai@uark.edu or by cell at (479) 221-2832.
