Seeking Volunteers for the 20th Edition of the Human Library
The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education and the Department of International Students and Scholars are proud to announce the 20th edition of the U of A's Human Library, which will take place March 14-16. Driven by a mission to cultivate safe spaces and promote tolerance through heart-to-heart conversations, the Human Library seeks volunteers to share their life's stories as human books.

Established in 2000, the Human Library is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. We welcome all kinds of diverse stories as a library does, that not only challenge prejudices and stereotypes but also uplift, educate and encourage readers. The Human Library is a place where real people are on loan to readers—a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered.
The U of A's Human Library began in 2009 and is proud to be a part of the larger international Human Library Organization based out of Copenhagen, Denmark. Past book titles at the U of A's Human Library include:

All donated bikes will be given to Pedal It Forward, a local nonprofit that will refurbish your bike and return it to the U of A campus to be gifted to a student in need. Hundreds of students have already benefited.
