After 24 years of service to the university, Pat Turner of the U of A Division of Research and Innovation will officially be retiring on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Turner joined the U of A in 1998 as part of the NSF EPSCoR program and moved into Research and Sponsored Programs the next year. As a grants specialist, she worked with faculty to facilitate their proposal submissions and ensure adherence to agency guidelines.

Turner received her B.S. in biology from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas, prior to a 12-month internship in medical technology at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. After several years as a board-certified medical technologist (MT-ASCP), she attended Mississippi State University and graduated with the Master of Science degree with an emphasis in administration. For 10 years she was the project management coordinator for the DOE-sponsored Diagnostic Instrumentation and Analysis Lab at MSU, now the Institute for Clean Energy Technology.

Colleagues and acquaintances are invited to drop by the Administration Building (ADMN 317) between 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Please come enjoy the celebration!
