Celebrate With CSSA for Its 2023 Chinese New Year Party Feb. 24

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association invites students to participate in the 2023 Chinese New Year Party on Friday, Feb. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the Multicultural Center on the fourth floor of the Arkansas Union.

It's the year of the rabbit! The Chinese Students and Scholars Association invites students to participate in the 2023 Chinese New Year Party on Friday, Feb. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the Multicultural Center on the fourth floor of the Arkansas Union.  

Chinese New Year celebration is the annual traditional celebration event hosted by CSSA, emphasizing fun activities such as Chinese calligraphy writing, traditional paper cutting, Chinese clothing photo booth, Chinese sports and Mahjong. On top of that, we will be providing Chinese snacks and beverages. Participants can also learn to make their own paper lanterns to take home! The event will be hosted with passion for students to broaden their cultural knowledge and gain connections with students from different cultural backgrounds. 

A full Chinese buffet will be provided to attending University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students. Chinese culture is one of the world's oldest cultures, tracing back thousands of years. Being the biggest Chinese group here at the U of A, our mission is to bring this history-rich culture to our student body and let them experience first-hand Chinese culture. We believe that experiencing has more educational value than sitting in a classroom lecture. For the 2023 Chinese New Year Party, CSSA aims to introduce traditional Chinese sports, Chinese papercutting and lantern-making to campus to broaden the knowledge of the U of A community. Anyone who participates in this event can enter our lucky pot and have a chance to win prizes. (Prizes were purchased by CSSA. ASG does not fund prizes.) 

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee.
