Workshop on Graduate Admissions to Be Held March 29
A workshop on graduate admissions titled "Understanding Application Criteria for More Informed Decisions" will be presented by Carlos Grijalva from 2-3:30 p.m. March 29 on Zoom. Be sure to register here before the event, after which you will receive a confirmation email containing the necessary information about joining the meeting.
Graduate admissions can be difficult when programs must make decisions based on very limited information. This session is meant to inform on the purpose and benefits of various components of the application packet. Additionally, strategies for mitigating the drawbacks of each of those components to create a holistic and equitable process for your program will also be discussed.
Grijalva is an emeritus professor of neuroscience and psychology at UCLA. He is an ETS graduate education adviser and was the former associate dean for graduate diversity programs and oversaw the Graduate Division of Diversity, Inclusion and Admission and Fellowships and Financial Services.
