Pakistani Student Association

The Pakistani Student Association invites students to attend Yaum-e-Pakistan, the celebration of a major step in Pakistan's journey to becoming a country, on Friday, March 10, at 3:30 p.m. in the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence (CORD) room 349. Yaum-e-Pakistan commemorates the adoption of the first Constitution of Pakistan during the transition of the Dominion of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, making Pakistan the world's first Islamic republic.

This event is non-ticketed and open to all students at the U of A.

The day is celebrated annually throughout the country as a public holiday. The Pakistan Armed Forces usually hold a military parade to celebrate both the passing of the Lahore Resolution and the Constitution of 1956. The celebration of Yaum-e-Pakistan introduces the common culture of Pakistanis to the students from all around the world. The Pakistani Student Association aims to celebrate Pakistani customs to bring integrity to the Pakistani community on campus, as well as introduce it to other students who are interested in such events.
