Entomology and Plant Pathology Seminar to Feature Amelia Lindsey

The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology will host Amelia Lindsey for a virtual seminar in the Plant Science Building, room 009, as part of the Spring 2023 Seminar Series. The seminar is scheduled to take place from 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 7. A social period will precede the seminar at 3:15 p.m., with light snacks and drinks just outside the lecture hall.

Title: "Microbe-Mediated Losses of Sex in Beneficial Insects"
Speaker: Amelia Lindsey, assistant professor, University of Minnesota
Lindsey is an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota. Her lab uses functional genomics to understand reproductive parasitism in insects, with a major focus on the symbiont Wolbachia and parasitoid wasps. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California Riverside and completed a postdoc at Indiana University prior to starting in the Entomology Department at UMN in 2020.
