Revelation: The Birth of Black Muslim Radical Internationalism in New York City
The Middle East Studies Program is hosting a lecture by professor Rasul Miller at 4 p.m. this Thursday, March 9, at Giffels Auditorium.
His talk will focus on the life and work of Shaykh Saoud Ahmed Faisal and Mother Khadidja Daisal, two Afro-Caribbean Muslims who built one of the city's first mosques together and contributed much to the direction of Black Muslim religious culture and community.
Miller will examine the intersections of religion, race, politics and culture in the urban U.S. and discuss their role in forging the unique historical formulation of Black Muslim Radical Internationalism.
