OSA Graduate Assistant Brant Holst Wins Outstanding GA for NACA-Central

Brant Holst, graduate assistant for University Programs within the Office of Students Activities, won the Outstanding Graduate Assistant award from the Central Region of the National Association for Campus Activities.

Brant Holst, graduate assistant for University Programs within the Office of Students Activities, won the Outstanding Graduate Assistant award from the Central Region of the National Association for Campus Activities.

The Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award honors a graduate student currently advising in the field of campus activities and demonstrates a commitment to both their current position and graduate education.

Holst has been a GA with University Programs within the Office of Student Activities and has had an impact on the students he advises. "Brant has become the resident expert in his time with University Programs, always having a plan for each event or an answer for each student," said Sophie McAdara, president of University Programs. 

Trisha Blau, associate director for the Office of Student Activities, said, "As Brant's direct supervisor, I have seen him develop into a student affairs professional that I am proud to have as a fellow colleague. Brant works diligently to challenge the status quo and improve the processes and programs at the University of Arkansas. In addition, he is a wonderful adviser who connects with the students he oversees and is always there when they need assistance."

Holst is pursuing a Master of Education in higher education through the College of Education and Health Professions.

The National Association for Campus Activities was established in 1960 and provides a variety of events, educational institutes, publications and networking opportunities for colleges and universities across the country. They focus on campus programming, multicultural education, student and professional leadership development, student government and more.

University Programs is a program within the Office of Student Activities, a department in the Division of Student Affairs.
