UARK Wellness, along with Employee Development Program, is now offering a Wellness Certificate Program designed to develop and recognize a commitment to overall health and well-being. This program consists of a combination of training and self-study, as well as community service, across the eight dimensions of wellness, which include: physical, social, spiritual, environmental, financial, emotional, intellectual and occupational.

All program participants applying for a wellness certificate, at the time of application, will provide a written personal impact statement describing their plan to make wellness and well-being a priority both for themselves individually, but also within their area on campus.

There is no time limit for earning the wellness certificate, and participants are encouraged to work at their own pace.

"When I heard this Wellness Certificate Program was being offered, I checked the program requirements and was pleased to find that I had already been working towards many of the requirements on my own," said Shannon Youmans, course reserve and multimedia specialist. "It's nice to know that when I complete the Wellness Certificate Program, I will get recognition for all the hard work I have done on myself over this last year. This program also encourages me to continue my path to over wellness, and I hope that it encourages others to do the same."

To learn more about the wellness certificate and begin the program, sign up at urec.uark.edu.

Each month, UARK Wellness will also be providing university faculty and staff with engaging wellness programming through our Lunch & Learn series. Each session will touch on a different aspect of wellness, and all faculty and staff are encouraged to participate.

Our next Lunch and Learn will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the Arkansas Union, room 403. All participants are encouraged to reserve a spot at edp.uark.edu.
