Toshiko Takaezu (1922-2011) was a Japanese American ceramicist who combined traditions of East Asia with abstract expressionism in her art.

She is best known for her large, closed vessels and a focus on form and glaze to connect interior and exteriors of the objects. She mentored generations of students at the Cleveland Institute of Art and Princeton University.
