The Center for Communication Research will host a Lunch and Learn event addressing the double binds women teaching assistants may confront when instructing in the college classroom. Women teaching assistants across campus are invited to attend this event, which will be held from noon to 1:15 p.m. Friday, April 14, in room 324 of the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence.

The Lunch and Learn will include keynote remarks from Lori Holyfield, who will provide pedagogical advice to attendees. Holyfield, a professor of sociology and criminology, is an award-winning teacher and served as a co-director for the Teaching and Faculty Support Center from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, Zoë Anastosopolos, a graduate student and teaching assistant in the Department of Communication, will present a summary of her qualitative case study on the credibility-related experiences of women TAs at the U of A. Attendees will also have a chance to connect with one another by sharing their experiences and teaching tips.

Boxed lunches from Panera Bread will be provided. Those interested in attending should RSVP by completing this form no later than Tuesday, April 11. For any questions, please reach out to zpanasto@uark.edu.
