Adult Participants Needed for Gut Microbiota Research Study; $50 Gift Card Available

Researchers at the U of A are currently conducting a research study about gut microbiota and their relationship to obesity. The study is looking for research participants with the following criteria:

  • Must be 21- 45 years of age
  • BMI (body mass index) > 30
  • Not taking any drugs or antibiotics for the last six months
  • No gastrointestinal disease or conditions

Participation will include a short screening process of filling out questionnaires and taking height and weight measurements. If chosen, participants will be asked to provide one fresh fecal sample in a provided sample collection kit at the Food Science Department (2650 N. Young Ave., Fayetteville).

A $50 Amazon gift card will be provided as compensation. In addition, successful participants can get to know their gut microbiota profile upon request after the completion of the study.
