Volunteer Judges Needed for Eleanor Mann School of Nursing's Science Day

The Eleanor Mann School of Nursing is seeking faculty to volunteer as poster presentation judges for its inaugural Nursing Science Day.

Judges will view the poster slides by April 25, and awards will be presented starting at 5:30 p.m. on the day of the event, which is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, in the Arkansas Union Ballroom from noon to 6 p.m.

Posters will be evaluated in four categories:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Graduate students
  • Clinical partners
  • Faculty

The symposium will feature nationally and internationally known nurse scientist speakers. They will present research topics applied within the Translational Science spectrum. The keynote speaker is Elizabeth Tarlov, Ph.D., R.N., director of the National Institute of Nursing Research's Division of Extramural Science Programs at the National Institutes of Health.

Other speakers include Anne Sales, Ph.D., R.N., a professor in the Sinclair School of Nursing and the Department of Family and Community Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Missouri (Columbia), and Monica Wagner, Ph.D., R.N., an assistant professor in the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

Jessie Casida, Ph.D., R.N., APN-C, FAAN, executive director of the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, will also present research at the event.
