A chapter co-authored by Associate Vice Provost and Director of Student Success Trevor Francis was selected for publication in NACADA's book Comprehensive Advisor Training & Development, 3rd Edition. The publication focuses on the how and why of advisor training, offering practical frameworks for advisor training and professional development.

Francis co-authored the chapter "Self Care as a Tool for Advisor Development," focusing on the importance of self-care in a field where practitioners often experience compassion fatigue.

"I'm delighted that the National Academic Advising Association dedicated a chapter to self-care for advisors, who are often prone to compassion fatigue," Francis said. "Over the years, our campus advising directors and advisors have taught me the importance of being intentional when it comes to taking care of each other and taking care of yourself. It was an honor to share lessons learned with the NACADA community."

In his work with student success, Francis collaborates closely with college advising centers to support advisors in their important work. With this in mind, The CORD assists academic advisors by providing software support and coordinating UASuccess training and support and professional development opportunities.
