The new U of A Employee Wellness Program's theme for May is Intellectual Wellness. Intellectual wellness involves using a variety of mental abilities to help individuals organize experiences, problem-solve, think creatively and expand their knowledge. Intellectually well people are open-minded about new ideas and seek challenges throughout their lives.

The May wellness newsletter is now live on the Faculty and Staff Wellness page. The newsletter features a variety of events happening around campus, along with resources about how to stay intellectually healthy.

Upcoming Events:

  • Reading is a great way to practice intellectual wellness. The program's monthly book club will meet on Wednesday, May 31, at noon in MULN 452 to discuss The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley.

  • The program, which is a partnership with University Recreation, will have a table on the third floor of the Arkansas Union to answer questions and provide wellness resources for staff from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 13. U of A Professional and Workforce Development staff will be in attendance with resources focused on June's theme — Occupational Wellness.

The U of A strives to create a foundation of support for all employees to grow, advance and thrive in both their professional and personal lives. Adopting a wellness philosophy can greatly impact behaviors, emotions and relationships. Practicing personal wellness can greatly improve quality of life and maximize an individual's full potential.
