The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program is thrilled to announce that Taryn Loyd, a licensed and certified audiologist, will be joining the faculty and the U of A Speech and Hearing Clinic. She will be offering audiology services across the lifespan and supervising graduate and undergraduate student clinicians starting this summer.

Originally from Northwest Arkansas, Loyd earned her Bachelor of Science degree in communication disorders from the U of A and her clinical doctorate in audiology from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. She has experience providing audiology clinical services to both adult and pediatric patients and loves to promote hearing conservation.

Loyd is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, where she holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). She is also licensed through the Arkansas Board of Examiners and the Missouri Board of Examiners. Loyd commented, "I am excited to join the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at the University of Arkansas; this will allow me to promote two areas of audiology that I love the most: academic and clinical education in audiology."

Program Director Rachel Glade stated, "Dr. Loyd is an automatic burst of energy and excitement for both our program and the UA Speech and Hearing Clinic. She has clinical expertise and experience across the lifespan and with a variety of hearing technologies. We are incredibly lucky to have her joining our team."
