The U of A Bands invite all students, regardless of major or instrument, to audition for a fall 2023 concert band. Two ensembles will be offered, each available as one-credit-hour courses offered through the Fulbright College.

Wind Ensemble
Meets M-W-F, 12:55-2:15 p.m., Chris Knighten (MUEN 1691, 2691, 3691, 4691, 4861 and 5691)

Wind Symphony
Meets M-W-F, 12:55-2:15 p.m., Jeffrey Summers (MUEN 1461, 2461, 3461, 4461, 4661 and 5461)

Brass and woodwind instrumentalists will submit a pre-recorded video via a private YouTube link. Students may submit the link to their video audition anytime between today and noon CST, Monday, Aug. 7. If students do not have access to an instrument or are unable to submit an audition by this time, arrangements may be made with director of bands, Chris Knighten.

Percussion auditions will be held at the end of the first week of classes to allow percussionists to prepare excerpts for percussion instruments they do not have access to during the summer.

Students can find more information about fall concert bands, including audition excerpts and submission link, by requesting access to the University of Arkansas Bands Sharepoint.

If you have questions, please reach out to Chris Knighten at knighten@uark.edu.
