Project Management Professional prep class is offered by the U of A, along with Certwise material, to prepare professionals for the certification exam.

Registration is open for a new 12-week course for professionals to prepare for the rigorous Project Management Professional Certification Exam. The intensive program combines U of A expert instruction with the Certwise Learning System for PMP Exam Preparation training materials and meets Project Management Institute's 35 contact hour PMP Exam requirement.

According to PMI, PMP credential holders in the U.S. earn 25% more than those without the certification. To obtain PMP certification, a project manager must meet certain requirements and pass a 180-question exam. The PMP exam was created by project leaders for project leaders, so each test question can be related to real-life project management experiences.

Instructor Tamisha Doublin has had a career in project management, training and teaching for 20 years. Additionally, she is a certified Project Management Professional and Agile Certified Practitioner with the Project Management Institute.

Classes are set to begin on Aug. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. and will be held every Thursday at that time for 12 weeks. The classes will be held online and instructed live for better engagement with students. Those unable to attend live classes can also log on anytime, from anywhere, to view the recorded sessions via Blackboard Collaborate once each session has been posted. Registered participants have 10 months to access and complete the program. The cost is $1,600 with a 10% discount to all U of A employees. It is also supported by the Reimagine Arkansas Workforce Grant to offer free training to qualifying Arkansas residents. Textbook fees are included, but certification exam fees are not included. Participants can register online.
