Latine/x Student Welcome Begins at 6 p.m. Today at J.B. Hunt Center

The Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education's La Oficina Latina will host a Latine/x Student Welcome, consisting of a presentation in room 216 of the J.B. Hunt Center for Academic Excellence, with a resource fair and mixer to follow on the second-floor landing. This event is free with refreshments provided by Chuzos Sabor Latino.

All first-year and returning U of A Latine/x students are invited to meet Latine/x student leaders, staff and faculty members; hear from guest speakers; and get to know other Latine/x students! Amongst the students, staff and faculty representatives, the World Languages & Digital Humanities Studio will be represented by Larissa Rocha de Souza Almeida, a studio researcher and public policy graduate student.

There will also be representatives from the Latin American/Latino Studies program, the Sin Límites Youth Biliterarcy Program, the International Bolivian Organization, Panamanian Student Organization, Mexican American Student Association, the Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, the Phi Iota Alpha fraternity and the Hispanic Women's Organization of Arkansas. Students will also receive La Oficina Latina's official T-shirt for the 2023-24 academic year on a first-come, first-served basis.
