German Section Welcomes Alexandra Hagen

This fall, the German Section of the World Languages Department welcomes our new colleague Alexandra Hagen.
Hagen received her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in the field of 21st century literature and film and has 10 years of experience teaching at various North American institutions and the Freie Universität Berlin. Hagen is originally from Nürnberg and looks forward to introducing her native language and culture to U of A students.
She was recently appointed as a DAAD Ortslektorin (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, German Academic Exchange Service), part of a prestigious program funded by the German government that seeks to foster transatlantic collaboration at the post-secondary level.
