Si Hong Park to Present Microbiome in Human Life in Food Science Seminar Today
The Department of Food Science and the Center for Human Nutrition are hosting Si Hong Park at 3:05 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 25, in rooms D1/D2 in the Food Science Building or via Zoom.
Park will present his research on the Microbiome in Human Life. Park obtained his Ph.D. in food science at the U of A in 2013 and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.
Park has published more than 105 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and his research expertise focuses on microbiome analyses in human and animal gastrointestinal tracts, environmental sources and foods; evaluation of prebiotics effects on gut microbiome and foods to enhance food quality; understanding of interaction between host and foodborne pathogens using "omics" approaches; and development of rapid detection and identification of foodborne pathogens.
