The World Languages & Digital Humanities Studio will host the next DH Meet-Up on Thursday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and will center project pitches for future digital humanities (DH) projects, or projects that are still in the planning phase or early stages.

Presenters will be limited to a three- to three-and-a-half-minute project pitch that will then be reviewed by a committee focusing on three criteria (innovation and collaboration, feasibility and applicability to world languages & cultures) to determine the top three pitches, and presentations will be followed by a discussion. Winners will be announced later that day. Presenting is open to WLLC/CLCS faculty and graduate students only.

Some of the presentation pitches will be:

  • Spanish Transmedia Strategy
Presented by: Brenda Magnetti (teaching assistant professor, Spanish), Angela Cruz (Ph.D. student, CLCS), Guillermo Pupo (Ph.D. student, CLCS), Liz Villamizar (Ph.D. student, CLCS)

  • Narco Fantasy Land: A doctoral dissertation on transmedia adaptation of spaces around narco-narratives in Colombia and their impact on international audiences
Presented by: Angela Cruz (Ph.D. student, CLCS)

  • izi.travel: Travel Guides in an Italian Conversation Class
Presented by: Daniela D'Eugenio (assistant professor, Italian), Alyona Shestopalova (FLTA, WLDH Studio), Yosr Mehri (FLTA, WLDH Studio)
