School of Law Announces 2023-24 LeMay Business Law Fellows

Third-year law students Ellen Womack and Travis Linn have been selected as the 2023-24 Ron and Casondra LeMay Business Law Fellows. They were selected based on their interest in and commitment to business law, significant leadership potential and prior performance within the business law program.

Womack and Linn will serve as student leaders of the law school's Business Law Concentration Program and Business Law Society. The fellows will attend outreach events with other law students, participate in program offerings, assist with recruitment of law students for the business law program, help with the program's social media presence and engage in planning and research related to the program.

The fellows will coordinate their efforts under the advisement of Will Foster, the Arkansas Bar Foundation Professor of Law. "I am delighted Ellen and Travis received this recognition for their important work with the business law program," Foster said. "I look forward to working with these new fellows as we continue to design and expand opportunities for students to learn about representing businesses and entrepreneurs."

The Ron and Casondra LeMay Business Law Fellowship was established to recognize and support exemplary law students committed to business law who are dedicated to promoting the program to fellow students and the greater business and legal communities. The fellowship program is part of a larger gift to the School of Law from the LeMays that established the Ron and Casondra LeMay Endowment for Entrepreneurial Law.

"I'm honored to have the opportunity to work alongside Travis and Professor Foster as a LeMay Business Law Fellow," Womack said. "I look forward to connecting the Northwest Arkansas business community with what we have going on here at the law school."

Womack is the 2023-24 vice president of the Business Law Society and has been in leadership positions since joining her 1L year. She is also a member of the Women's Law Student Association, served as a research assistant and was a member of one of two teams who tied for the "Top Scoring Defense Team" in the 2023 Trial Advocacy course. Womack earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing with a minor in communications from Texas A&M University in 2021. As an undergraduate, she was active with the Aggie Advertising Club, Student Retailing Association, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

I am excited to serve my classmates in this capacity and look forward to contributing to an increase in the number of programming and networking opportunities within the Business Law Program. I am very grateful to Ron and Casondra LeMay for providing this opportunity to my classmates and me," Linn said.

Linn is the president of the Business Law Society, managing editor for the Arkansas Law Review and vice president of the Law Student Wellness Society. He is a research assistant for professor Daniel Rice and previously served as an extern for the U of A General Counsel's Office. Linn graduated summa cum laude from Pittsburg State University in 2021, earning his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice with a minor in psychology.
