On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Volunteer Action Center will host its annual Make A Difference Day. This event is a campuswide day of service and a culmination of the long-standing relationships between U of A students and local nonprofit organizations across Northwest Arkansas. Each year, Make A Difference Day generates tremendous economic and service impact through the various projects held both on and off campus.

Last year marked the official return of Make A Difference Day since 2019, where over 700 volunteers gave 1,532 volunteer hours through the 22 service projects held, which ultimately resulted in an economic impact of $45,883!

This year's Make A Difference Day has over 20 service projects available for students to choose from, which can be found on the Volunteer Action Center's Givepulse website. Students will have the opportunity to tend gardens, collect seeds, organize clothing, beautify trails and contribute to the excellent volunteer culture of Northwest Arkansas.

Make A Difference Day 2023 will kick off at 8 a.m. at the Razorback Gardens. Breakfast, snacks, drinks and shirts will be provided while volunteers meet with their associated project leaders. Many of the service projects will take place outside, so it is recommended that volunteers wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes.

Make A Difference Day is a great way for students on campus to get involved with the Volunteer Action Center through meaningful service opportunities. For a fun-filled day of meaningful impact and bonding with friends through service, join the Volunteer Action Center for Make A Difference Day 2023 on Saturday, Oct. 28!

The Volunteer Action Center is a student-led organization that connects students at the U of A to service opportunities on and off campus.
