World Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Razorback Reveal
Incoming Razorbacks visiting the World Languages & Digital Humanities Studio to learn more about language courses.
As part of the Razorback Reveal event last Saturday, the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures held a language fair for incoming students at the World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio, located in the J.B. Hunt Center for Excellence, room 207.
Faculty and teaching assistants met with incoming students to tell them how studying world languages can unlock a spectrum of exciting opportunities — including internships and study abroad, co-majors across colleges such as engineering and business, and cultural opportunities like conversation tables, game nights and cooking — while building intercultural competencies that are crucial for success in a global marketplace.
Over the course of the afternoon visit, students learned the importance of sharing the value of studying languages even before starting college. The incoming Razorbacks also had the opportunity to snack on international treats, have their names colorfully written in Arabic and explore a virtual reality Italian language learning game conceptualized by U of A faculty.
