A Thank-You Note to Campus

This past Staff Appreciation Week was filled with a number of activities that honored staff, and Staff Senate wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who made it possible. From the faculty to the administrators to the participants, each and every one of you played a role in fostering a sense of appreciation among staff, making everyone feel valued. Whether you were hosting a breakfast, providing discounts or offering volunteer opportunities, you made sure there was something for everyone to enjoy this week.

Senate is especially grateful for the sense of community that these efforts inspire. We want to thank all of the organizers and volunteers that made these activities possible. Many units hosted multiple events, but some highlights include:

  • UITS, UAPD, Parking & Transit, Walton College, and Graduate School & International Education provided breakfasts for their respective staff.
  • FAMA, Fulbright Dean's Office, Journalism & Strategic Media, Fay Jones School, Student Affairs, School of Art, Global Campus and the College of Engineering provided lunches, potlucks and picnics for their staff.
  • School of Art also hosted a retreat with painting classes and volunteer opportunities.
  • Housing hosted a tailgate grill lunch.
  • Tickets to both soccer and volleyball matches were offered by Athletics to campus staff, and they treated their own staff to ice cream.
  • All university staff were able to take advantage of food and drink discounts by Chartwells, merchandise discounts at the Razorback shop and UREC discounts and drawings on a variety of services.

Once again, thank you all for your efforts to make staff feel appreciated. These gestures, both big and small, go a long way toward advancing a culture of belonging on our campus.
