With the Razorback football team playing a home game for the first time in a month and basketball season starting soon, the Parking Department wanted to share athletic parking reminders with campus community members as the U of A prepares to welcome thousands of visitors back to the Hill.

Fans from all across the state, region and country will return to Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium to watch the Razorbacks face the Mississippi State Bulldogs and celebrate homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Arkansas football team will also host matchups against Auburn on Saturday, Nov. 11; Florida International on Saturday, Nov. 18; and Missouri on Friday, Nov. 24.

All student green lots, as well as several faculty/staff lots and parts of certain parking garages, must be vacated for football games by 11:59 p.m. the night before the game to help the campus accommodate visitors and strengthen the gameday festivities and atmosphere. Lots reserved for football parking are highlighted in red on the football athletic map.

Not all lots that must be vacated for football games have to be vacated for basketball games, which must be vacated two hours prior to tipoff. The red lots on the separate maps for men's basketball and women's basketball denote which lots must be cleared for basketball parking permit holders.

The men's basketball exhibition game against Purdue, which tips off at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, is the first basketball game that will require vehicles without a basketball parking pass to relocate from basketball lots. Just for that game, only Lots 46E, 55, 56B, 56D, 60 and 62 must be vacated.

The men's first regular season home game is against Alcorn State on Monday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. The women's team's first home game is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, against Louisiana-Monroe.

Resident reserved lots do not need to be vacated before games. However, some resident reserved lots are near the football and basketball venues, so it is recommended those permitholders try to avoid entering their lot leading up to and during the games, as police can turn away vehicles that do not have game day parking credentials.

Students who need to move their vehicles are encouraged to use the economy lot (Lot 99 south of the main campus) and may move their vehicles back to the main campus the day after each game.

Reminders for both football and basketball games can be provided to members of the campus community through their Outlook calendar.
