AzadiFest: Celebrate Pakistan's Independence Day Oct. 25
The Pakistani Students Association invites students to attend AzadiFest, the celebration of Pakistan's Independence Day on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 5 -6 p.m. in the Graduate Education Building, room 343.
The Pakistani Students Association invites students to attend AzadiFest, the celebration of Pakistan's Independence Day, from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Graduate Education Building, room 343. This commemorates the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign state on Aug. 14, 1947. This event is non-ticketed and open to all University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students.
Pakistan came into existence because of the Pakistan Movement, which aimed for the creation of an independent Muslim state in the north-western regions of British India. The movement was led by the All-India Muslim League under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. This event introduces the culture of our country to students from all around the world. The PSA aims to celebrate our Pakistani customs to bring integrity to our community on campus, as well as introduce our traditions to other students who are interested in such events. This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee. This event is held in a venue that meets ADA standards. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend this event.
