Evening of Southern Italian Folk Dance and Song

Join the Italian Program at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Worthington Hall of the Epley Band Building, room 123, for an evening filled with Italian folk music and dance.

Michela Musolino will bring to life an entire world of folklore from Southern Italy focusing on the various forms of the Tarantella. She will explain the siginificance of the songs, sing for us and then teach us about the diverse versions of the dance before teaching us to perform the steps. The event will be part presentation, part workshop, but completely fun and entertaining.

The event is free and open to the public.

We highly encourage you to bring any interested individuals to join us. Many thanks to our numerous co-sponsors: the departments of English, History, Music and World Languages; the Honors College and Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences; the programs in Classical Studies, Mideast Studies, Gender Studies, International and Global Studies, the Arkansas Humanities Council and the Multicultural Center. Questions? Email professor Calabretta-Sajder at calabret@uark.edu.
