On Thursday, Oct. 26, the World Languages & Digital Humanities Studio will host a second panel on AI titled "Artificial Intelligence and Storytelling" from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will start with a discussion among the panelists, then a Q&A with the audience, and afterwards, lunch will be provided at the studio, J.B. Hunt Center room 207.

This meet-up will include a moderated panel discussion on how AI is impacting storytelling and how global trends in technology are playing out in Northwest Arkansas. The panel will be moderated by WLLC associate professor of classical studies, game design and digital humanities David Fredrick.

Featured panelists are:

  • Joe Payne (game designer and Web3 entrepreneur, UNLIMITED Game Studios)

  • Stephanie Essin (narrative designer, UNLIMITED Game Studios)

  • Greg Rogers (creative director, Causeway Studios)

Payne and Essin were a part of a May 2023 Game Development panel on "Humanities in the Metaverse" that explored the creative, cultural and ethical implications of designing videogames in the context of a continually evolving metaverse. Rogers, a U of A alum, recently participated in a Fireside Chat with Causeway Studios hosted by the professional organization Ozark Game Developers and the UARK RSO Razorback Game Devs last month.
