CAPS to Host Halloween Open House Oct. 31
Mental health does not have to be scary. Pat Walker Health Center's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is here to show you just that at the second annual CAPS Halloween Open House from 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
"The CAPS Halloween Open House allows our community to get a behind-the-scenes look at CAPS," said Jack Rindahl, CAPS mental health clinician and outreach coordinator.
The open house is for U of A students, faculty and staff, as well as anyone interested in applying for an internship at CAPS. Those who come will have a chance to tour the facility, meet CAPS clinicians, participate in pumpkin painting and pillow making, enjoy trick-or-treating and more. All who come are encouraged to wear a costume, but it is not required for attendance.
"The purpose of our open house is two-fold: first, it's to foster community among students with a fun and engaging event to celebrate Halloween; second, it's to give students a chance to familiarize themselves with the purpose of CAPS and lower any apprehension they may have about approaching us for services," Rindahl said.
