IT Services has announced Kathryn Zawisza as the new associate chief information officer of campus partnerships. In her new role, Zawisza is responsible for leading strategy and engagement for technology-related relationship management across the university.

"I believe that Kathryn is the perfect person for this role given her experience and expertise connecting the campus community with the technology and resources needed for success," Chief Information Officer Steve Krogull said. "I am eager to see our IT community and partnerships across campus flourish with Kathryn's guidance."

This position engages with campus IT professionals and contractors providing services within the university's colleges and departments, as well as recognizing these staff as an essential part of delivering value to their departments and increasing understanding of enterprise priorities through leveraging shared expertise and common standards.

"I love working at the University of Arkansas and helping faculty, students, and staff with technology, connecting people with communities and resources, and solving problems," Zawisza said. "This new role allows me to help the university more broadly by listening to campus needs, partnering with colleges and units, facilitating conversations about making our campus better and improving processes through technology."

Over her eight years with the U of A, Zawisza has held a variety of positions as both faculty and staff member, ranging from faculty support specialist to director of academic technology and innovation. She also continues to teach in the philosophy department. In her most recent role of over five years as director of academic technology and innovation, Zawisza assisted faculty members with technology to improve teaching and learning experiences in the classroom.

Kathryn received her bachelor's degree in history from Henderson State University in 2006 and her Master of Liberal Arts in 2009. She continued her education at the U of A by receiving her master's degree in philosophy in 2011, as well as a Ph.D. in philosophy in 2017.
