Author Kat Robinson to Speak on Arkansas Food Traditions Wednesday

Arkansas Folk and Traditional Arts will end the second year of its Arkansas Folklife Web Series with guest Kat Robinson at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15. This webinar is free and open to the public, and registration is required.  

Robinson is a Little Rock-based travel writer and the host of the Emmy-nominated 2018 documentary "Make Room For Pie: A Delicious Slice of The Natural State" and a committee member for the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame. She has written many books, her most recent being The Great Arkansas Pie Book: Recipes for The Natural State's Famous Dish From Our Favorite Restaurants, Bakeries and Home. She is the Arkansas fellow and curator for the National Food and Beverage Foundation, a guest editor for the 2014 issue of the University of Arkansas publication Arkansauce: The Journal of Arkansas Foodways and the 2011 Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism Henry Award winner for Media Support. Robinson's forays across Arkansas have earned her the titles "road warrior" and "traveling pie lady," having spent much time exploring the Natural State and researching its cuisine.

This will be the final session of 2023. The Arkansas Folklife Web Series will return in the spring of 2024.
